“Down The Rabbit Hole”, a show of new art works by bay area artist Richard “Ricky” Watts opens November 5th at Buddha’s Palm Gallery in Sebastopol. This series of paintings, done entirely with aerosol spray paint, is a continuation of Watts’ experiments with shape and color in abstract forms.
The exhibit is the artist’s first solo show with Buddha’s Palm Gallery and will include over forty pieces utilizing spray paint on stretched canvas and wood panel. The opening reception for Down The Rabbit Hole will be held on Saturday, Novermber 5, 2011 from 6-9pm. The exhibit will be on display through January 6, 2012.
Watts, a 2002 graduate of the Art Institute of California – San Diego campus, works out of his Sebastopol studio as an artist and graphic designer. He has shown at galleries in San Francisco, Oakland, New York City, Los Angeles, Portland, San Diego and through out Sonoma County. His art has been featured in international publications Refused Magazine, X-Funs (Taiwan), Bay Area Graffiti (book), Four G’s magazine, Modern Fix, The Flop Box and Flo multi-zine.
A signed & numbered, limited edition print will be given to the first 100 guests. Legendary bay area DJ, Mr. Element, will be providing music through out the evening.
